Edward L. Hedaya, MD is well regarded by his peers in Ophthalmology who frequently seek his opinion. He is loved by his patients who appreciate not only the depth of his expertise, but also his engaging personality, caring and outstanding skills. He has trained at some of the finest institutions in the country, including Mt. Zion/UCSF, North Shore/Cornell Medical Center, and the New York University Medical Center. In addition to the standard ophthalmology residency program, he had elected additional pre- and post- residency fellowship training programs to expand his knowledge base and skills. Consequently he ranked in the top 10% nationally in his board certification in ophthalmology.
Dr. Hedaya served as Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center. He also was a certified supervisor for the LADARVision excimer laser. He specializes in non-incision laser vision correction, called PRK, on the leading-edge German engineered Allegretto Wave Eye-Q laser system. Dr. Hedaya enjoys teaching the nuance of laser vision correction as well as the LenSx cataract laser to other surgeons. It is his nature to be intellectually inquisitive, and he is well regarded in the ophthalmic industry. He participates in many web seminars and meetings around the world. His most recent publication focused on how to optimize surgical results. With over 30 years of growing surgical experience, Dr. Hedaya has developed a strong track record of excellent results with extremely low complication rates. He is among the most experienced cataract and laser vision correction specialists on the Jersey Shore. Our office databases the surgical results and they are outstanding. He also has a keen interest in more difficult cases, including patients who have had laser vision correction or other eye procedures in the past.

Dr. Hedaya resides on the shore, loves being married, and has four dynamic children. His hobbies are ophthalmology (of course), teaching doctors, learning languages, exercise - including downhill skiing, biking, as well as travel. He is a fan of the ballet, symphony, and adores the American standards!
Marc von Roemer, MD

Marc von Roemer, MD

Marc von Roemer, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, who earned his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School. After graduating medical school with honors and at the top of his class, Dr. von Roemer completed his residency training at Stony Brook University in New York, where he was selected as Chief Resident. He has been with InVision Eyecare since 2000.

Dr. von Roemer is well recognized for his outstanding medical skills. His areas of special expertise include: the treatment of macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and dry eye. He is also trained in performing laser eye surgery to improve vitreous floaters. Dr. von Roemer is certified to perform laser vision correction and also offers BOTOX® and Juvederm® for facial rejuvenation.

Dr. von Roemer is the Director of the Laser Vision Center at InVision. Dr von Roemer is extremely well respected by his patients who consistently applaud his excellent surgical skill, outcomes and focused personal care. Dr Von Roemer has a strong interest in laser vision outcomes as well as safety. Recent technologic acquisitions will reinforce our already outstanding safety record of performing laser vision correction for over 20 years.

Dr. von Roemer is a lifelong New Jersey resident and lives locally with his wife and five children. His interests are spending time with his family, photography, hiking and skiing.
Jonathan Gloth, MD

Jonathan Gloth, MD

Ophthalmologist & Retinal Surgeon


Jonathan Gloth, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retinal surgery specialist practicing at InVision EyeCare. He specializes in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and uveitis. 

Dr. Gloth graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He also received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence (awarded to students with a 4.0 grade-point average). He then graduated from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the national medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and finished rigorous fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis at Albany Medical College in New York. During his time in Albany, he was appointed a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology.

Dr. Gloth was board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2011. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Gloth’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented numerous times at national meetings.

His areas of surgical expertise include retinal detachment repair, diabetic hemorrhage evacuation, macular hole repair, and macular pucker peeling. Dr. Gloth also treats complications of cataract extraction, such as removal of retained lens fragments and intraocular lens repositioning.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Gloth is an avid sports fan. He lives on the shore and enjoys exercise, hiking, and traveling. Most of all he relishes spending time with his beautiful wife and four children.
Ashwinee Ragam, MD

Ashwinee Ragam, MD

Ophthalmologist, Corneal Specialist & Cataract Surgeon


Ashwinee Ragam, MD is board-certified and a corneal fellowship-trained ophthalmologist. 

Dr. Ragam graduated summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey. She was accepted to the competitive, accelerated, seven-year BS/MD program at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she finished at the top of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed an ophthalmology residency as well as corneal subspecialty fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. She was selected by her peers and mentors to become Chief Resident.

Both Dr. Ragam and her husband, an orthopaedic hand surgeon, are New Jersey natives and looked forward to returning home after training to grow their practices and raise their two sons.

Dr. Ragam performs cataract surgery, corneal procedures including full and partial-thickness (DMEK, DSEK) corneal transplantation, as well as pterygium excision. She is the first ophthalmologist in Ocean County to perform FDA-approved corneal collagen crosslinking for progressive keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia.

Over her years in practice, Dr. Ragam has developed a strong interest in the causes of ocular surface diseases which includes dry eyes. She runs our highly advanced Dry Eye Relief Center at InVision Eye Care, which assists numerous patients with this common yet complex condition. By focusing on Dry Eye, Dr. Ragam is able to optimize her patients’ vision and eye comfort before, during, and after their cataract surgeries.

Dr. Ragam has published several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Cornea Society, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Janelle McDonald

Janelle McDonald, OD 

Optometrist, Comprehensive Eye Care & Contact Lenses


Janelle Tertullien-McDonald, OD is a board-licensed optometrist who graduated summa cum laude with a BSc degree in Biology from CUNY City College of New York and earned a Doctorate of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in New York. 
Dr. McDonald completed internships at East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Brooklyn , NY and the Family Vision Care Associates and Bernstein Center for visual Performance, where she gained valuable skills and experience in the management of eye diseases including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
Prior to joining Invision, Dr. McDonald has practiced full scope optometry for 10+ years in private practices in Newark and Passaic NJ. She provided a range of services including comprehensive eye exams for children and adults, Contact lens fittings, ocular emergencies, treatment of ocular conditions such as diabetic eye disease, glaucoma , dry eye syndrome, as well as pre and post op management of cataracts and LASIK.

In her free time Dr. McDonald enjoys home renovations with her husband, crafting , traveling and spending quality time with family.
Moshe Strauss, OD

Moshe Strauss, OD

Moshe Strauss, OD is a board-certified optometric physician, with over twenty-five years of experience providing comprehensive optometric care to patients of all ages. Prior to joining the InVision team, Dr. Strauss owned and managed a well-respected private practice in Middlesex County, New Jersey, that operated at the highest levels of patient care. He is proficient in performing all ophthalmic diagnostic tests, accurately analyzing results, and diagnosing and treating various eye disorders including glaucoma, and corneal and retinal diseases.

He brings to InVision special expertise in fitting both routine and specialty contact lenses. He has extensive experience fitting contact lenses for diseased corneas including keratoconus, post-op keratoplasty, severe dry eyes, and scarred corneas utilizing specialty lens designs such as scleral lenses, hybrid lenses, and various other lens modalities to allow the patient with irregular corneas to attain good vision. He also has extensive experience and interest in fitting lenses that will slow down the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children, including MISIGHT and Orthokeratology contact lenses.

Dr. Strauss is the director of the Children’s Myopia Center at InVision and is looking forward to aiding in slowing down the epidemic of myopia that exists in the Lakewood community.

Dr. Strauss is a graduate of Yeshiva University with honors and received his Doctor of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Strauss is board certified and a member of the American Optometric Association. He speaks fluent Hebrew. Dr. Strauss has been very well received by patients and staff at InVision because of his excellent skills and extensive knowledge. We look forward to his continued success and welcome him joining our team of professionals.

Dr. Strauss and his wife raised their four daughters in NJ. They particularly enjoy visiting their grandson who lives with his parents in Israel.
