- Purchase an ORBSCAN corneal analysis unit that allows for a 3-dimensional analysis of the cornea. This allows for a more thorough evaluation of the cornea prior to surgery to enhance the safety of the procedure.

- Use the flying spot laser with the "NASA" eye tracker to increase the safety and accuracy of laser surgery. It also allows him to diminish symptoms of night glare and haloes talked about on TV and radio talk shows. Most of Dr. Hedaya's patients report an improvement in their night vision!

- Obtain infrared technologies to better assess pupil size in nighttime situations to help reduce unwanted night symptoms.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL

A very important factor in consistency of Laser Vision Correction results is strict control of the range for temperature and humidity in the laser suite itself. The center has a unique air pocket design and air control system to protect the laser suite itself from unwanted humidity and temperature changes. A consistent environment has been achieved independent of the outdoor weather. Studies show, without this consistency, humidity and temperature affect the rate of corneal tissue removal and final results. We have invested in a Liebert air control system (www.liebert.com). The Liebert is also used in pharmaceutical and computer chip manufacturing plants where strict environmental control is importan.
