Until recently, patients undergoing lens implant surgery received a monofocal, or single focus IOL. Monofocal IOLs implanted in both eyes generally provide excellent distance vision, while patients often need spectacle correction for near and intermediate vision. In the late 1990s, Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) introduced its first multifocal IOL designed to provide multiple points of focus, thereby dramatically reducing the need for bifocals or trifocal glasses after surgery. Today, with its many optical design enhancements, AMO’s second-generation ReZoom™ Multifocal IOL is providing patients with a full range of vision and greater independence from glasses or contact lenses than ever before. Clinical studies show that 92% of those receiving the ReZoom™ Lens technology “never”, or “only occasionally,” need to wear glasses.1

"I am learning more every day! This is possible thanks to my new crystalens®. To start with, about three years ago I had cataract surgery performed on my left eye (not by Dr. Hedaya). To make a very long story short, with the help of Dr. Hedaya, my vision improved but was never perfect through no fault of his. When I needed the cataract in my right eye removed, Dr. Hedaya suggested the new crystalens. From the first evening after the surgery I have gotten perception back (which I thought impossible) and the clarity is so marvelous. I would have never believed it. Only one week since surgery and I am starting to be able to see little mid and close. If you are thinking of this, it was worth every penny to me! And just imaging I only have one good lens! If I had both like this I can not even imagine how great it would be! Vision being a gift to us from God if we can restore it to the best of medical knowledge. Price should not be an object. Thanks again to a great and caring staff and doctors!" - Mrs. Gail de la C. |
"In January 2007, I approached my first cataract procedure (right eye) with extreme trepidation since I have a phobia, from childhood, regarding anything related to my eyes. Both the pre-op and operating room, I was a total bundle of nerves. Dr. Hedaya did his best to relax me with his stand up comic routine, all to no avail. Then he told me to look up and that's all I remember about the surgical procedure. I went home and within two hours from the time I entered the O.R., I had no pain whatsoever. My fear of the procedure was eliminated. Within two days, I was absolutely looking forward to having the other cataract surgery completed ASAP. After completion of the second procedure, I can now read a newspaper, I can now drive, I can now use my computer, all WITHOUT the use of glasses. Dr. Hedaya, thank you for performing this miracle for me. You have changed my life for the positive." - Lawrence S. |
"I never thought I'd be able to see well as I do. Took 20 years off my sight, 10 years off my looks, and added 30 years to my self confidence and self esteem." - Sherry B. |
