Mono Laser Vision Correction New Jersey
Mono laser vision correction may be used in some patients over the age of 40 who normally lose their reading vision about this time. This is a process called presbyopia. So if they were to wear their glasses they would need to have a bifocal lens. If they were to wear their contacts, they would need reading glasses.
We also take a careful history to make sure mono vision will fit ones needs. In the mono vision Laser Correction procedure we target one eye for distance and the other for closer vision. This means that eye with closer vision will be somewhat blurred for distance vision. Many people are used to this who already wears mono vision with their contact lenses as they aged.
For those older presbyopic patients (40+) who have not worn mono vision contact lenses, we will demonstrate by providing free contact lenses on their eyes before performing laser vision correction. This will allow us to make certain the patient is comfortable with mono vision ahead of time.
